Programme -- Site Visits

Professional Excursions

Beside the regular and special lectures and projects, we also organise site trips for the students. One trip goes to ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands; the other to Jodrell Bank Observatory; and the third one is to the Greenwich Observatory. All these site visit are free of charge for the accepted students. Overseas students requiring visas should make it clear in their application that visas are needed. Students should arrange their own visas by themselves. We provide only limited assisstance in obtaining such visas.

We strongly believe it is essential for the students to have first-hand experience at a non-academic research institution. Although for instance the Royal Observatory, Greenwich may be known more because of historic reasons the added cultural value and experience has a strong impact on visitors, and we highly recommend it.
